Philip Moyo

Since 2014 I’ve been ministering in the rural area of Guruve, north of Harare. When I came here there was a small group of believers, but the Lord is helping us to grow both numerically and spiritually. It’s not easy to minister to this rural community, which is heavily influenced by the Vapostori, a sect that blends traditional religion and Christianity. I thank God that after all our efforts, we are beginning to see some growth results. Membership now is 80 and we baptise about 12 persons per year.

Yes, we are facing a lot of life challenges, but we know God is faithful. Thanks also to Ray Motsi and Bob Heaton from TCZ for their mentorship. Please to pray for me and my family as we continue to serve God in Guruve.

Philip received his B.A. degree in Theology from TCZ in 2014, after which he began pastoral service at Guruve, north of Harare, Zimbabwe’s capital. Many of the residents are from Mozambique and have difficulty reading and writing Harare’s vernacular, Shona. While pastoring, Philip completed a distance-learning Honours programme with the South African Theological Seminary and then a B.A. Special Honours in Theology at TCZ.

Thando Makaza

My graduation at TCZ was one of my most joyful days in my life. I had a very strong sense of calling from God and I tried a few colleges before I enrolled at TCZ. As soon as I started at TCZ I felt a sense of belonging. The teaching and the exegetical approach to biblical interpretation and leadership grooming were my highlights. After graduation I found myself being elected as the General Secretary of the National Baptist Convention in Zimbabwe while I pastored a church part time.

I am aware that TCZ has partners who help the college and students in spiritual and material support, to whom I am grateful. In a sense I am standing on your shoulders, because of your efforts and giving. Thank you so much. If it was not for your support, I could not have afforded to study at TCZ. Siyabonga! Thank you!

Thando received her Advanced Diploma in Theology from TCZ in 2014.

Harold Haamamba

The Theological College of Zimbabwe prepared me for ministry. It did not just feed our minds but filled our hearts and built my spiritual character as well. TCZ is a multi-tribal, inter-racial and inter-denominational community which prepared us to serve effectively in the global village context. I very much appreciate the Christ-like and servant leadership development through mentoring and daily devotionals and weekly nurture. The leadership development was so good that some of us took up management positions in the corporate world with no regrets.

I would like to express my thanks to TCZ and all the sponsors who prayed for me and paid for my studies at TCZ. As a leader in the corporate world here in Zambia, people often ask me where I received my training and I am not ashamed of telling them about TCZ. Thank you and God bless you.

Harold graduated from TCZ with an Advanced Diploma in 2001, the Bachelor of Arts in Theology in 2002, and the post-graduate B.A. Honours in Theology in 2004. For a number of years he was the chaplain at the CURE Hospital in Zambia and in February 2020 began service at Mwandi Mission Hospital in Zambia, operated by the United Church of Zambia.
